BA ZI is a Chinese Metaphysics System that uses the YIN YANG, Five Elements, HSIA Calendar System and a person’s Birth Data to determine a person’s innate energies, capacities and their change cycle(luck cycle).
BA ZI Structure
A BA ZI Chart is plot from a person’s Birth Year, Month, Date and Hour (Birth Data) using the HSIA Calendar System. The system uses the TEN HEAVEN STEMS and TWELVE EARTH BRANCHES to represent the Year, Month, Day and Time. Each denomination is represented by a character from Ten Heaven Stems and a character from Twelve Earth Branches to form a pillar which is why BA ZI’s meaning in Chinese is Eight Characters or some call it the FOUR PILLARS OF DESTINY.
What are the Ten Heaven Stems and Twelve Earth Branches?
Each of the Ten Heaven Stems (JIA, YI, BING, DING, WU, JI, GENG, XIN, REN, GUI) and Twelve Earth Branches (ZI, CHOU, YIN, MAO, CHEN, SI, WU, WEI, SHEN, YOU, XU, HAI) is either YIN or YANG and also belongs to one of the Five Elements of phases of energies (Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth). The Ten Heaven Stems and Twelve Earth Branches represents an aspect (Health, Wealth, Intelligence, Character, Relationship etc) in a person’s life. Their numbers and corresponding strength determines their capacities.
The energy count and their strength fluctuates or changes when the Ten Heaven Stems and Twelve Earth Branches interact with each other or with those from the Luck and the Year Luck Pillar brought by each year. These yearly energy fluctuation is used to read each aspect and their peak and low season in a person’s life.
