I am Joe Ong
I started my Chinese Metaphysics Studies more than a decade ago after a tour of the Ming Tomb, Temple of Heaven and Forbidden City in China. These historical buildings left a deep impression on me because we do not have any structure of their age in Singapore and anything old here looks and feels quite current with our diligent maintenance and constant upgrades. The palace’s entrance alignment to the North South Axis (ZI WU XIAN) among other observations also caught my interest to find out more about them that led me to the metaphysics of FENG SHUI which is a significant aspect of Chinese Architecture.
I was a common believer that geomancy and fortune telling are just superstition but it occurred to me at that time that FENG SHUI were used by the supreme rulers of their time and have existed for hundreds of years so there could be some truth in them. I thought being superstitious can also work the other way around with taking common beliefs as facts without finding out more. Since then, I have studied and practiced FENG SHUI, BA ZI and Divination with many Great Masters in Asia and learn that these studies are based on nature cyclic movements, formulas, has structures and is actually quite systematic. It a pity that we do not realised some of these knowledge that have existed for thousands of years are actually applied in modern day land surveyance, space planning and interior design methods.
In this website I will share my understanding on Chinese Metaphysics and their application in our modern world. All articles are written by me without any professional editing so pardon me if there is any grammatical or spelling error.

十多年前，在参观了中国的十三陵、天坛和紫禁城之后，我开始了我对中华易学的研究。这些历史建筑让我留下深刻印象，因为我们在新加坡没有他们那个时代的任何建筑。这里的任何旧建筑在我们勤奋的维护和不断升级的情况下看起来和感觉都很现代。宫殿的入口与南北轴线 (子午线) 对齐以及其他观察也引起了我的兴趣，想了解更多关于它们的信息，这让我发现了风水易学，中国建筑的重要组成部分。
当时的我认为风水和算命只是迷信。但我也想到风水是他们那个时代的最高统治者所使用的，并且已经存在了数百年，所以它们可能有些道理。 我认为迷信可以反其道而行之，在无知的情况下将共同的信念当作事实。 从那以后，我跟亚洲许多大师学习和练习风水、八字和占卜，发现这些学法都是基于自然界的循环运动、公式，有结构，其实是很系统的。遗憾的是，我们没有意识到一些存在了几千年的知识实际上已经应用于现代土地测量、空间规划和室内设计方法中。
